January is almost over. Are your Christmas decorations down yet? What about the lights outside? Be honest! And what do you do with the beautiful holiday cards that were lovingly sent to you? Do you keep them in a memory book? Toss? Burn? Make into origami?
Every year I struggle with this what-to-do-with-the-cards dilemma. It's hard to stomach just tossing those snapshots of loved ones that you might only see once a year into the trash! This year, I'm on a quest to find something creative, and useful, to do with them. Here are a couple of ideas I found:
1. Make a collage of all your cards, place on an artist canvas, modge podge into place. Decorate with ribbon, the word, "JOY", etc. Super cute for your holiday decor next year!
2. Cut each card into the same shape - triangle, star, circle - your choice. Then make a wreath out of the shapes.
3. Make gift tags out of them. This is really cute if you cut them into a traditional tag sort of shape.
4. This is super cute , make a little book out of them, you can either bind together with an actual binding, make a cover, you decide. Then you can join your "books" together by attaching them with rings (like binder rings). How fun to flip through them as the years go by.
5. Make a photo card garland to lace your staircase or drape around your windows.
What ideas do you have? Which of the above are you going to do? Please share! And Happy New Year from Card Couture!
